The wonderful online craft magazine whip up linked to my version of Vals Orignal Yarn Ball Pattern that I knit up as a quick cat toy last year. I’ve since knit another, slightly smaller one.

The first was 9cm in diameter and seemed to scare my kitties a little. I also gave the smaller one a longer tail, so my hands would be safe from kitty-claws when I dragged it along the floor and they went chasing after it:

Mostly they prefer very small toys that shoot across the floor like a hockey puck though:

These are crocheted, but my knitted Halloween Eyeballs work well too.
